Hwa Rang Do is a Korean martial art containing thousands of kicking and punching combinations, weapons, joint manipulations, throws, ground fighting techniques, as well as ki development, meditation, and healing arts. There is no other martial art that can match it's comprehensive curriculum and remarkable versatility.
Hwa Rang Do Madison has served south central Wisconsin for over a decade. It is directly affiliated with and sanctioned by the World Hwa Rang Do Association and Dr. Joo Bang Lee, Supreme Grandmaster of Hwa Rang Do. The ancient art of Hwa Rang Do and undergraduate program, Tae Soo Do are both taught at the Madison Academy.

Hwa Rang Do and Tae Soo Do students make strong showing at Southern Wisconsin Open Tournament
On Sunday March 30th, 2008, the Academy of Hwa Rang Do Madison West attended the Southern Wisconsin Open Martial Arts Tournament. This is a tournament open to all styles of martial arts that is conducted every year at Verona High school. I am proud to announce that our very own Madison West Dojang took 5 first place awards and placed in the top four in just about all other categories. There were thousands in attendance and roughly 600 competitors. I was not only proud of the fact that everyone did so well, but that Hwa Rang Do was so well represented at this tournament by good sportsmanship, honor and integrity. Job well done team!
